Why This Iowa Guide Exists
Iowa has no single statewide jail roster or public arrest-photo database. Each county's sheriff or jail operator keeps its own booking records and decides what appears in a roster or feed. The arresting police agency may hold a separate incident report, while Iowa Courts Online tracks public trial-court case activity. The Iowa Department of Corrections (IDOC) search covers state prison and eligible supervision records, a different stage from county booking. This guide brings those routes together and explains what each one can show; it does not copy or host their records.
How to Use the Iowa Pages
The statewide pages cover distinct record questions rather than repeating a single arrest list:
- The Iowa arrest and booking guide explains how county rosters, requestable records, court dockets, custody tools, and commercial indexes differ.
- The County Directory lists all 99 Iowa county pages for local browsing.
- Most Wanted explains the limited scope of warrant and fugitive notices, while Are Mugshots Public? covers Iowa access law.
- The IDOC records guide explains the state profile's scope and limits compared with county booking records.
Limits of This Site
Iowa Busted Mugshots is privately operated and has no affiliation with an Iowa sheriff, jail, corrections department, court, or other government agency. This site is a guide to records and procedures, not a custodian or government search portal. We cannot:
- confirm whether someone is currently held, release or transfer a person, or change a charge;
- post bond, arrange a visit, or send money to a person in custody;
- give legal advice or act as a lawyer;
- guarantee that an outside agency's address, fee, roster, or instructions have not changed.
Confirm custody, charges, release, and case disposition with the county, agency, or court that maintains the official record. A roster can lag behind events and may display only a limited population.
Search Partners
Some pages include search boxes operated by outside providers. Those providers set their own prices, terms, and result methods. If a visitor follows a search link and buys a service, this site may receive a referral fee that helps fund free reference content. We do not control a partner's results, charges, or privacy practices; review its terms before submitting information.
